Daniel, a 15 year old teenager from the small town of Stittsville, ON, has the opportunity to compete in the World Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) Championship in London England in October, 2019.
Obstacle course racing combines both trail running and mountain climbing amongst a variety of speed, strength and agility obstacles throughout the distance.
Daniel has been racing since the age of 9. He finished his first Adult Spartan Race, in 2016 crossing the finishing line with his father, and now has found a love in Obstacle Course Racing. He trains and works at the OCR Academy in Ottawas West End.
In the summer of 2018, Daniel placed 1st at the age of 14 in the 13-19 age group. From then on, 12 races per summer, in Canada and the USA, Daniel has podiumed consistently throughout the season.
The highlight of 2019, Daniel competed in Vermont, USA for the North American Obstacle Course Racing Championships placing 1st in the Male 13-17 age group 15 km race, and he also placed 3rd in the 13-19 age group 3 km race.
The reason why we have started this campaign is to raise money for flights and accommodations so that Daniel can represent Canada in London, England in October, 2019. Any little bit helps to send Daniel to compete.
